The Structured English Query Language (SQL) is a powerful and flexible database language, available on most computer systems in the industry. While not heavily used in the past, SQL has become the database language of the future for the iSeries. Enhance your skills by adding SQL to your toolbox. Why Embed SQL in RPG?

As stated above, SQL is the database language of the future for the iSeries. However, RPG IV is a powerful programming language that provides a granular level of control. Merging the detailed programming options of RPG IV with the dynamic and efficient database processes of SQL creates a hybrid program that achieves results, which a program written solely in either RPG IV or SQL could not achieve.
